GL events inaugurates venues in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in 2016
With a large investment program, the French group GL events prepares the inauguration of important venues in the next months. In the first half of the year, there will be the launch of São Paulo Expo (former Imigrantes Exhibition & Convention Center) that is going to be totally concluded and converted into the largest covered convention center in the country, with 100,000 square meters in built-up area. The venue has been managed by the company since late 2013, and it has been modernized and enlarged. This reformulation also included the construction of the largest parking lot in the city of São Paulo and improvements in its surroundings.
Out of the group's total investment in Brazil, a large part is addressed to Riocentro that has been renewed and received a five-star hotel in its premises. Grand Mercure Riocentro, inaugurated in June 2015, completed the complex infrastructure offering the convenience of hospitality with direct access to the convention center.
The company has also renewed the concession agreement for the management of Rio Arena. Firstly idealized to the Pan-American Games in 2007, Rio Arena is the only multifunctional venue in the country constructed within the strictest international standards and prepared for both sports competitions - it was approved to receive the American NBA games - and a large variety of events. Not by chance, it has become the preferred venue by the greatest international and national artists for concerts in the city.
In addition to managing event venues, GL events has Fagga I GL events Exhibitions in its portfolio, a benchmark in the organization of trade shows in the whole country, with 50 years of experience. Recently, the group has acquired LPR, company specialized in booth assembly for trade shows and events, furniture rentals and visual programming. Founded in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, LPR operates all over the country. CJ Executive, company of the group that provides high-standard customized advice in reception of tourists and executives. And Profil, which provides specialized personnel for hosting the audiences, is also found in the company portfolio.
The company manages Aedita Latina, a publishing house responsible for two of the most important publications in the beauty sector in the country, You Brasil and Les Nouvelles Esthétique; GL events Services, focused on developing and installing temporary infrastructure and services for events; and Live! By GL events, an agency for the event conception and production as well as special projects, that was developed to operate in all the stages of events.
GL events deploy all efforts in adopting the best environmental practices in the whole supply and production chain. The company adopted the guidelines from the headquarters' social environmental responsibility global program and applies the Think Green business program, which is found in all stages of the company businesses, from the event conception to the correct waste management.
